Journey
Life is a journey.
You are born and you begin this journey, a path filled with uncertainty, risks, lies, truths, heartbreaks, failures, and successes.
All these small moments make the journey worthwhile because, on our deathbeds, the prevailing thoughts are whether we truly lived our best lives or if something was left undone — though, by then, it’s too late to change the course.
Sometimes, being selfish is justified.
Prioritizing oneself isn’t always wrong.
Dreaming of something better is not wrong.
Desiring more from life is perfectly natural.
Being selfish about the way you want to live is NOT WRONG.
People will judge — that is their choice.
You can choose to not care about them.
We often find ourselves in awe, perhaps even envious, when someone achieves the life we envisioned for ourselves.
They made the hardest choices, whether in their careers, marriages, or families.
They chose the road less taken just so they could be what they wanted or dreamt about in their own magical world when they were kids.
Life can be grueling, marked by rejections and failures. Yet, it’s those small triumphs that become most significant.
During these tough times, we are making decisions which could be something we never wanted, but just to survive, we did.
Still, amongst us, there will always be that one person who will always make a “choice” by listening to their heart. While their decision might seem foolish at the moment, they are the ones we envy when tomorrow arrives.
I am not saying you are wrong, sometimes we have to make decisions we don’t want to; we all have to, but if you choose to continue that way, well, I believe you know better.
We are born alone, and we die alone; the memories we create in between are what we carry to our final resting place.
Why not make the journey count? If not, the destination might prove disappointing. Sometimes, deceive your mind and take that leap of faith your heart yearns for.
Why not risk it all for fleeting moments of joy?
So when we are face to face with the God of death, that small moment of joy may be the reason for our smile, which makes the God of death itself jealous, and we joyfully depart from this world as warriors to the next destination with that big bright smile saying, “I win”.
